Wailevu Methodist Circuit Purchase First Vehicle Through Reforestation Programme

On Thursday, the Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry, Mr. Rovereto Nayacalevu handed over a new vehicle to the Wailevu Methodist Circuit at Wailotua Naba Dua Village in Wainibuka.
The car worth $14,000 is an incentive for the reforestation work carried out by the Men’s Fellowship of Wailevu Methodist Circuit on a total area of 70 hectares of land.
This is an initiative made possible through the Ministry’s Reforestation of Degraded Forests (RDF) programme.
The Wailevu Methodist Circuit looks after five churches including Naiyala High School.
Leader of the Wailevu Methodist Circuit Men’s Fellowship, Mr. Sakeasi Ravutugaga said he was thankful to the men for stepping up to the responsibility that the Church had called them to.
“This is the first time in 40 years that we have ever bought a vehicle for our circuit and reverend. The vehicle will help our reverend in his ministerial visits to all the churches and members under his leadership,” Mr. Ravutugaga said.
He said the church believes that if the spiritual lives of its members was well looked after than it will lead them to excel in other areas of their lives.
Mr. Ravutugaga also expressed his appreciation to the government.
“We thank the Ministry’s leaders as well as its workers in the district office because if it wasn’t for their willingness to work closely with the people, this wouldn’t have happened,” he said.
