Acting PS Nayacalevu Urge for Better Utilisation of Resource Sectors
The Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry, Mr. Rovereto Nayacalevu has urged the Forestry Training Centers to explore more potential revenue generation streams to better utilise the resource sectors managed by the Ministry.

“We need to look long term in terms of the sustainability of our practices and ways to grow our contributions back to the national economy,” Mr. Nayacalevu said.
Also discussed were the existing status, capacity, facilities and potential of the training centers both in Nasinu and Colo-i-Suva, training program, products and possible upgrade of the current facilities.
The Ministry of Forestry’s Timber Industry Training Centre in Nasinu was established on the 21st of December 1971. The Forestry Training Centre in Colo-i-Suva was opened in 2002.
