A total of 39 men and 2 women graduated today from the Ministry of Forestry's Basic Training Course in Harvesting Trees Manually and the Basic Portable Sawmill Training Course held in Lokia Village, Rewa.

This milestone marks the successful completion of a comprehensive two-week program.

Organized by the Ministry of Forestry's Fiji Forest Products, Trade, and Training (FPTT) Division, the training equipped participants with vital skills to support sustainable forest management and create local employment opportunities.

The first week focused on classroom-based theoretical instruction, covering essential topics such as sustainable harvesting practices and the operation of portable sawmill equipment. The second week shifted to practical fieldwork, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world forestry settings.

This initiative reflects the Ministry's commitment to empowering local communities through skill development and promoting sustainable forestry practices.
